Accommodation
Accommodation consists of a small number of spacious canvas tents, each designed to cope with the cooler high-altitude climate of the crater rim. Interiors feature cosy furnishings, warm duvets, en-suite bathrooms with hot running water, and wood-burning stoves that add both comfort and atmosphere. Each tent also includes a private veranda, offering sweeping views across the surrounding landscape.
Food & drink
Dining at Entamanu Ngorongoro is warm and convivial, with meals served in the main mess tent or around the campfire under the stars. The cuisine is hearty and well-prepared, designed to suit the cooler climate and active safari days. Early breakfasts are arranged for crater descents, while evening meals are relaxed and social, often accompanied by stories from the day’s adventures.
What to do
Activities centre on exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, with early morning game drives descending into the caldera to maximise wildlife viewing opportunities before the crowds arrive. The crater floor is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife, including lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and large numbers of plains game. Additional experiences include guided walks along the crater rim, visits to Maasai communities and scenic excursions that take advantage of the camp’s unique highland setting.
Planning your stay
The crater rewards an early start, but accommodation on the rim and in the nearby highlands offers different trade-offs in journey time, setting and price. A longer stay can add highland walks or time on a working farm.
