Why this route

A journey with a clear sense of pace.

An arrival night, time for the crater and a meaningful Serengeti stay without excessive camp changes. The Big 5 are a possibility, never a checklist we can guarantee.

The crater and the Serengeti give this short safari two distinct settings without trying to cover the whole northern circuit. Two nights around Ngorongoro allow time for the crater and highlands, followed by three nights in the Serengeti rather than a series of one-night camp changes.

We choose the Serengeti camp around your travel month and priorities. If seeing the migrating herds matters most, the location comes first; if you prefer a particular camp, we explain what wildlife experiences are realistic there. The route leaves room for early starts, relaxed afternoons and time with your guide. Crossings and Big 5 sightings remain possibilities, never promises.

Every journey is tailor-made. We adjust the route, camps and balance of nights around your dates and interests.

When to go

Let the season shape your safari.

The itinerary works year-round, but the Serengeti camp should move with the season: broadly south from January to March and north from July to October.

The Migration is a year-round movement, so the right Serengeti area matters more than a single “best” month. Rainfall changes the timing of the herds; a river crossing should never be the only reason for choosing your dates.

These are broad seasonal patterns. Weather and wildlife movements vary from year to year.
