About Ngorongoro Explorer
Ngorongoro Explorer is a forthcoming Elewana lodge on the eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, scheduled to open in June 2027. The planned setting places terraces and shared areas above the caldera, with around a 15-minute drive to the crater gate. It will offer a contemporary, substantial-lodge option for travellers who want crater access and a broad range of facilities.
The lodge is being developed on the site of an existing property rather than adding a new accommodation footprint. The announced design combines contemporary interiors with open-fire lounges and terraces overlooking the crater. Publicity images are architectural renderings, showing the intended design rather than a completed operating hotel.
