Greystoke Mahale is one of Africa’s most iconic and remote primate camps, located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika beneath the forested peaks of the Mahale Mountains. Famous for extraordinary chimpanzee trekking experiences, the camp offers direct access to habituated chimp groups deep within the rainforest. The six rustic-chic bandas are crafted from reclaimed dhow wood and open directly onto the beach, blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. Between chimp treks, guests can kayak, swim in the lake or simply enjoy the remarkable sense of isolation and wilderness that defines Mahale.
